Mom’s Rolls
My mom used to make these rolls every sunday and they are well loved! Now I make them for my family on Thanksgiving and Christmas. We look forward to the holiday foods and these rolls being one of them.
Equipment
- 3 Glass Pie Dish
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp yeast
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup warm water
- 1 cup luke warm milk
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 3 units eggs
- pinch salt
- 4 cups flour
Instructions
- Combine; yeast, 1 Tbsp. sugar and warm water in a small bowl and let foam.
- In a separate bowl combine; luke warm milk, softened butter, 1/4 c sugar, 3 eggs, and pinch of salt. Add in the yeast mixture and flour and combine until thoroughly mixed. Set aside, cover with lid or Saran wrap and let rise.
- After the dough rises for 4 hours, roll the dough on a lightly floured surface and cut with a roll cutter. Fold the cut dough in half and place in a lightly greased and floured glass round dish (pie dish). Cover with clean dish towels and let rise for one hour then brush with melted butter and bake.
